Frequently asked questions
What makes the Obasan Grand Dunlop Latex Mattress different from other latex beds?
It uses 100% GOLS-certified Dunlop latex with a layered system including a firm base, a mid-layer with adjustable firmness, a three-zone centered layer for head, hip, and shoulder support, and a soft top layer, all wrapped in organic cotton and wool.
How should I set this mattress up to get the best support and comfort?
Place the firm 2" base, then stack the 4" mid-layer (set to medium or firm as you prefer), the 4" center zoning layer, and finish with the 2" soft top layer. The topper and zoned layers are designed to align with body regions for balanced support.
What does the comfort feel like on this mattress?
The combination of a soft 2" top layer, a zoned center layer, and a 2" Dunlop latex core provides pressure relief with contouring support, and the wool and organic cotton cover adds breathable, natural feel.
Which features should I pay attention to for long-term comfort and durability?
Key features include the multi-zoned comfort layers, the choice of lower support firmness (medium or firm), and the full use of 100% GOLS-certified Dunlop latex with GOTS-certified organic cotton and wool, all designed for durable, long-lasting performance.
Who would benefit most from this mattress and who might prefer something simpler?
This model suits sleepers who want substantial latex support with zoned contouring and a customizable feel. If you prefer a simpler, non-zoned setup or a different height, a more straightforward mattress may be a better fit.
What should a first-time buyer know about the materials and how they feel day to day?
